Dunn Named Varsity Cross Country Coach

Ann comes to us with an accomplished running and coaching career. She earned NCAA All-America honors as a distance runner for the University of Wisconsin and then competed professionally in the steeplechase as a post-collegiate athlete. While at Wisconsin, she was a part of a team that earned a 4th place finish and notched multiple top 20 finishes at the NCAA Championships.

After graduation, she quickly transitioned to a coaching role as an assistant coach at the University of California-Berkeley. During her three years in Berkeley, she guided the Cal women to their first NCAA Cross Country Championship appearance in 23 years as well as school record-breaking performances in the mile, 3K, 5K, 10K, and Distance Medley Relay.  Following her time at Cal, Ann held positions on both the track and field and cross country staff at the University of Kentucky as well the University of Oklahoma where she earned her master's degree in Exercise Physiology.  

 

Additionally, Ann holds a USA Track & Field Level 1 certification, a USTFCCCA strength and conditioning coach certification, and is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. She is co-founder and owner of Formula, a treadmill and fitness studio in Charlottesville.

 

Ann inherits a Cross Country program that boasts 6 state championships and 3 conference championships across the boys and girls programs.
