A Culture of Giving

Covenant is a culture of giving, and we welcome you into it.

We joyfully invite everyone with a Covenant connection - parents, grandparents, alumni, friends, and more - to contribute to the school, either online or by mailing a check to the Hickory Campus address below. (For information on how to make a gift of appreciated stock, please email advancement@covenantschool.org, or call 434-220-8124.)

Covenant is stable and thriving, with burgeoning enrollments and a community of profoundly generous donors. You will be directly enabling us to execute this vital mission of teaching the next generation to live well, remembering that part of living well is giving well

Meet the Advancement Team

    • Dan Kuecker

Director of Advancement and Community Engagement

As the Director of Advancement and Community Engagement, Dan is excited to lead with passion and purpose as we all find ways to support and advance our great school, its mission, and our people. Recently retired as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Army, he is thrilled to find another meaningful way to continue serving others.

Dan and his wife Lisa have two boys who are both enrolled at Covenant, one each at the Hickory and Birdwood campuses. As the Head Coach for Middle School football at Covenant since 2021, he is blessed to play a role in the important transformation of boys into men. In addition to a 20+ year military career that included over 24 months deployed to the Middle East and over a decade serving as an embedded attorney-advisor to special operations, intelligence, and conventional military organizations, Dan's background embraces a love and appreciation for small business and entrepreneurship opportunities, including the ownership and sale of four successful Anytime Fitness franchises; chief financial officer and general counsel of top-rated consulting firm Studio Grow; Co-CEO of defense contracting firm Cathan; and board chair of local military/veteran-focused non-profit ParadeRest.

Please reach out and introduce yourself. Dan is excited to meet you and learn more about you and your family.
    • Brady Doyle

A 2013 graduate of Covenant, Brady is a Double Hoo, graduating from the University of Virginia in 2017 with a BA in Media Studies, and later in 2019 with an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration. Prior to joining the Advancement team, Brady worked in various roles in the UVA Athletics department, spent time working in student affairs for the UVA Alumni Association, and for the past three years has served as a Youth Minister at Christ Episcopal Church and as the Director of Operations at the Downtown Counseling Center.

In addition to his role as the Associate Director of Advancement and Community Engagement, Brady is an assistant Varsity Football coach at Covenant and also serves as the lead live statistician for the University of Virginia Football and Men's Basketball teams. While a student at Covenant, Brady was a member of the Varsity Football and Varsity Baseball teams and served on the Judicial Council.
    • John Collmus

      Alumni Relations Associate

The Lord has blessed John with nearly 40 years of service as a teacher, coach, and administrator at The Covenant School. He and his wife Jacquelyn have four children (all Covenant grads) and six grandchildren. Covenant has played a critical part in their lives and the lives of their families and many close friends.

John has invested most of his career teaching and coaching at the high school and middle school levels. Born and raised in Maryland, he graduated from Washington and Lee University with a degree in biology, later earning his Master’s in Administration and Supervision from UVA. Following frequent conversations with Covenant's first Head of School, Stephen Yowell, John was hired in 1988 as Covenant's Assistant Head of School and a science teacher. Throughout his more than 35 years at Covenant, John has served in multiple coaching roles, as well as teaching various subjects in both science and theology.

John is excited to continue reconnecting with alumni and helping to build a thriving and valuable alumni network.
