2025-2026 Middle School Theology Teacher (Grades 6-8)

The Covenant School, an independent Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences school in Charlottesville, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator to teach Theology at the middle school level starting in the 2025-26 school year. Our school, which serves over 750 students from Pre-K through Grade 12, is a gospel-centered community of faith and learning, rooted in the Western Liberal Arts tradition, and focused on the formation of the whole person—mind, body, and soul. Our faculty leads with an incarnational approach that seeks to equip and inspire students to live well through service to God and others.

Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the academic study and practical application of Theology, as well as a passion for working with adolescents, the ability to connect with them on a personal level, and a commitment to fostering their holistic development as individuals created in the image of God. Candidates should possess a mature, Christian faith and an educational philosophy that is consistent with The Covenant School’s mission statement and Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences pedagogy. The primary subject matter of courses taught will include a theological survey of the Old and New Testaments. 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience teaching middle school students
  • Strong ability to integrate their Christian faith authentically in the context of their teaching
