Counselor - Lower School

The Covenant School is seeking a part-time School Counselor at our Lower School (Pre-K - Grade 5) for the 2024-25 school year. The School Counselor will work with the Head of Lower School and the Director of Student Support to plan and implement regular classroom guidance lessons covering social/emotional health and skills, character education, and academic and executive functioning skills.

Primary job responsibilities: 
  • Deliver regular classroom-based lessons covering social-emotional health and skills, character education, and academic and executive functioning skills topics that are age-appropriate;
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to target emerging student needs that can be addressed in a classroom environment;
  • Assist the Director of Student Support with parent resources and materials related to social-emotional health as needed; and
  • Assist with training faculty and staff through modeling and example to better support students in and out of the classroom. 
The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field and possess a strong background in social-emotional development and a commitment to Christian education and the Liberal Arts tradition. Candidates must also have the ability to connect and build a strong rapport with students, an enthusiasm for professional growth and student wellness, and an eagerness to share their Christian faith authentically in the context of their role.
