At Covenant, Kindergarten students thrive through play, exploration, and hands-on learning. Outdoor experiences guide them in discovering the beauty of God’s creation, fostering awe and reverence for the world around them. Learning extends beyond facts, shaping the hearts and minds of children to recognize and reflect the goodness, truth, and beauty in all of creation.
A Day in the Life
We value the whole child and provide opportunities for our students to flourish spiritually, academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.
Each day, students engage in Centers, Bible, Literacy, History or Science, Read-Aloud, Essentials, and Mathematics. Physical activity is essential. Kindergarteners each day have two recesses, P.E., and Outdoor Learning and Garden Time.

Mathematics
Kindergarten Mathematics focuses on developing number sense through games and hands-on learning while also providing review and extension activities. Students have opportunities to work in whole- groups, pairs, and independently. -
Literacy
Literacy is a multifaceted approach- building spellers to readers with a phonics emphasis. The curriculum also strengthens oral language skills and provides a foundation for the written language. -
Essentials
Students participate in a variety of essentials throughout the week including Art, Physical Education, Foreign Language, Formation and Virtue, Library, and Music. -
Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning allows students to grow socially and emotionally while exploring God's creation. Students have the opportunity to enjoy creative and imaginative play outdoors in our mud kitchen, learning cottage, and garden. -
Community
At Covenant, we have a joyous community that values parent partnership. Throughout the year we have various opportunities for families to be involved such as field trips, grade-level birthday celebrations, volunteer opportunities, and special events. -
Traditions
The performance “B is for Bethlehem” has been a Kindergarten Christmas tradition for over 20 years- celebrating the historical and Biblical account of the first Christmas. Kindergarteners also celebrate a year of growth at the end-of-the-year Rock Ceremony.
